What this PDF signer does
The OctaveKit PDF Signer allows you to place a visual signature on any PDF document. It works exactly like the signature tool in major PDF viewers, allowing you to draw or upload your signature and place it anywhere on the document.
When this is useful
- Signing application forms, leave requests, or letters.
- Self-attesting documents for Indian portals.
- Adding initials to every page of a contract.
- Filling out government or banking forms that require a visual signature.
Difference between visible and digital signatures
This tool adds a visible signature (an image of your signature) to the PDF. This is different from a certificate-based digital signature (DSC) which uses cryptographic keys to verify the document's integrity. While many portals accept visible signatures, some official government tenders or legal documents may require a DSC. Always verify the requirements of the recipient.
Privacy note
Your privacy is our priority. Your PDF and your signature never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. No files are uploaded to our servers.
